We have lost our second baby, Pixie to dog treats made by Spectrum. They are responsible for Dream bones and Good n Fun. When we lost ChaCha we started to inquire on the dog food and treats we where giving our pets. Especially after all of them... See More fell ill. After research and comparing symptoms we learned our dogs had been poisoned. The vomiting and diarrhea come first. The neurological symptoms follow. Lethargy and flopping to one side. The the loss of the ability to use the back legs. The blood coming from the bowels and mouth. The amount of suffering so many furbabies have gone through are indescribable. I reported the illness to Good n Fun and Dream Bones. Still no explanation or response for why this is happening. Check the ingredients in your dog food and treats. The top three ingredients should not contain sorbitol. The FDA classified it as a laxative. The ingredients should be natural. I will not stop until the FDA regulates our products for our pets. Nobody else should have to go through what our family and many other families have experienced. No other pet should have to lose their life to in such pain and agony. We have lost two babies and the other two are under care from our veterinarian. I shared ChaCha’s report. Pixie, passed away at the vet 10/02/23. We have been giving our dogs these treats, being advertised as a healthy alternative to raw hide. Our oldest female Chihuahua became ill on a Thursday evening. We contacted our vet and where advised to monitor her behavior and change her diet for twenty four hours. She... See More was vomiting and would not eat. Then diarrhea came. It was very bloody and had yellow in it with mucous. She was panting and trying to hide. The next morning her symptoms had become more severe. Our vet suggested we take her to an emergency hospital. Her kidney’s where failing and she was in diabetic shock. We where told with her age and symptoms she had a 5% chance to make it. She passed that morning. She was over 15 years old. She was part of our family. We trusted Dream Bones to be safe, do not be deceived!!! They are not safe and the FDA should start holding these companies accountable. There are no regulations on pet foods or treats! We should do better. Our furbabies deserve better standards. These bones poisoned all of our dogs and caused death in one. KinderFarms, LLC is voluntarily recalling all lots of KinderMed Infants’ Pain & Fever (oral suspension) and KinderMed Kids’ Pain & Fever (oral suspension) to the retail and consumer level. These products are being voluntarily recalled due to acetaminophen instability. These products are available nationwide in drug/pharmacy, supermarkets,... See More direct delivery and national retailers, and online through major ecommerce sites. The company has not received any reports of serious adverse events from either of these products to date.
The two products were manufactured and packaged for KinderFarms by a major, U.S.-based OTC pharmaceutical manufacturer with over 30 years of experience. Ongoing testing of sample batches indicated some product lots were no longer in specification and may pose a health risk. Acetaminophen is the active ingredient in many pain-relieving medicines. As a result of the potential health risk with acetaminophen being outside of specification, the product may cause acute adverse health effects, including abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or jaundice at higher doses.
This voluntary recall encompasses all products currently available on shelf of these two SKUs only. The impacted product being voluntarily recalled is all lots of:
- KinderMed Infants’ Pain & Fever (2 fluid ounces/59 mL), (Acetaminophen - 160 mg per 5 mL), Oral Suspension. UPC: 850001805698
- KinderMed Kids’ Pain & Fever (4 fluid ounces/118 mL), (Acetaminophen - 160 mg per 5 mL), Oral Suspension. UPC: 850001805728
Consumers who purchased either of these two products should stop using them and may return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
