A water main break occurred in the Northwest area on Portland Saturday morning, October 5 and the Portland Water Bureau (PWB) is advising those in the area to not utilize tap water until they can make repairs.

The 16-inch main break occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday, where NW 29th and NW 31st Avenue come together off NW Yeon Avenue.

The PWB does not recommend using tap water for drinking, cooking, or laundry in North West Portland for the time being to due the water quality.
