'- Rooms that are not cleaned on a regular or daily basis - Staff not provided adequate PPE equipment - No air purifiers for rooms with no windows On August 25, 2021, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) referenced on its site the Illinois Department of Public Health´s (IDPH) guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) entitled, " Guidance for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools." This guidance pertains to all P-12 schools in Illinois. While IL OSHA cannot directly enforce this these guidelines, the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers to protect employees from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees (820 ILCS 219/20(a)).
