Regulatory Report

94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, 07039 New Jersey, United States

1 A "negative pressure system" was installed into the PACU Annex room at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston in advance of anticipated future Covid 19 patients. It was set up exactly like it was when I reported this to you during the height of the pandemic, then removed, now is placed back into service. The employer has not ensured that this system operates properly, according to all applicable consensus standards, for a negative pressure system for isolation rooms for patients with contains including airborne and droplet hazards. 2 In addition, an isolation room for patients in rooms including airborne and droplet, typically has 1 patient. During the former use of this room there were many Covid-19 patients placed into this large room. How would the negative pressure system adequately operate in a large room when the maximum number of patients placed into this room and an adjacent Annex were 18 patients, without barriers between patients ?
