1. Approximately 9/24/2021, there was a fire at the facility and the water sprinkler system did not activate. Several employees were stuck at Ramp #1 and Ramp #2, while inside their trash collecting vehicles, due to the piles of trash that had accumulated around them. The establishment had a recent fire on 9/13/2021 at their recycling center where the water sprinkler system did not activate. 2. When medical waste is disposed of in compactors, blood and biohazards leak out around the compactors, onto the walking-working surfaces that employees must use to commute from one work area to another, and inside the trucks. 3. The employer is not complying with the Governor's COVID-19 mandate in regard to employees wearing face coverings. Two managers and an employee tested positive for COVID-19 in the past two weeks and were not wearing face coverings, potentially exposing other employees during debriefing meetings. 4. The employer is not complying with the Governor's COVID-19 mandate in regard to employees testing positive at the workplace. At least one employee was symptomatic while working and there is concern that the employer did not disinfect the facility or conduct contact tracing after learning of employees having tested positive for COVID-19.
