Title 8 CCR 3205 - On October 26, 2020 train conductors were told to resume passenger ticket inspections. These inspections had been halted in March 2020 due to COVID-19. The inspectors are now exposed to all passengers, even those not wearing masks. The inspectors cannot maintain 6-foot social distancing while inspecting tickets. The inspectors are not authorized to direct passengers without face masks to leave the trains. Vans used to transport conductors working over 12 hours, from hotels to Union Station, do not provide 6-foot distancing. Some conductors are required to sit right next to each other. Futhermore, the crew members do not all wear face masks and the employer does not enforce the wearing of face masks.
