1. With the Covid surge, employees are becoming increasingly sick/affected by sickness at home. Multiple employees have been instructed by Employee Health, their supervisors, management and Human Resources that even if their family members have been exposed and told to quarantine that the employees themselves do not need to quarantine unless they become symptomatic. 2. It appears PPE is beginning to be rationed again as well with the rise of multiple Covid units in the hospital. Multiple employees have had to search for gowns as they are running low. Multiple gowns have been observed hanging from doorways to be reused by nurses/techs/cnas as well as multiple nursing staff entering rooms without using gowns at all. 3. Transporters transporting patients through the hallways or to their vehicles are not wearing gowns even though they are in close proximity to the patient. This seems to be due to the fact that they are labeled as not 'providing direct care'. Transporters are not clinical employees, however they have reported circumstances where transporting and coming into contact with excessive patient belongings, helping patients transfer or even becoming exposed, as sick patients on their gurney remove masks due to confusion, or bouts of emesis throughout the hallway that they assist with. There is no time to don PPE in emergency situations through the hallway.
