Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, HEALTHPOINT FAMILY CARE, 7607 DIXIE HIGHWAY, FLORENCE, KY, 41042, USA

4 years ago business

7607 Dixie Highway, Florence, 41042 Kentucky, United States

When employee arrived at work, they found that management had removed all face masks, leaving only one Level 1 face mask for each employee. Employee performs procedures that require at least a Level 3 mask. An email went out stating that employees must reuse face masks. The email is quoted in part below. Employee was told that if they did not like it they can leave unpaid. The email from the dental director said: I have an urgent request of you. As you are aware, we most likely will not be able to purchase more masks for some time. The level III masks we are using will not protect us from COVID-19; they really are for stopping large spatter, not small aerosol particles. We need masks to do our jobs, and medical needs masks as well. I am wearing my mask until it is visibly soiled and am not touching it with my gloved hands. I am removing and donning it by the ear loops with my ungloved hands. The mask I wore today did not become damp or soiled in any way. I am going to wear it again tomorrow. We cannot change our masks every 20 minutes, unless soiled, if we are going to be here for our patients. So if you are changing your masks multiple times a day, that has to stop for the time being. Only change your mask if soiled. If you have concerns about this, please reach out to you center manager.
