Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, HB Fuller DBA Royal Adhesives & Sealants LLC, 4401 Page Ave, MICHIGAN CENTER, MI, 49254, USA

4 years ago business

4401 Page Avenue, Michigan Center, 49254 Michigan, United States

We have 5 people that have tested positive for covid. The company is slow to put up notifications, but they do eventually get put up. They seam to be lacking in the sanitation of things. They say they have someone on every shift walking around and spraying break and lunch rooms and door knobs, but no one seems to see these people. Also we are almost positive that they don't sanitize the locker rooms or the rest rooms frequently if they do it at all. We run machines called laminators, to laminate seem tapes to EPDM rubber, for roofing, on lines 4, 5, and 6. A year ago they redesigned our machines and put a piece of 4 inch I-beam on the end where we get our final product, that was supposed to be part of a seem tape cutter system. The design didn't work. And just about every employee that runs the machines keep hitting our hand on the beam, and we were told in May 2020, that they would take care of it. Well all they did was grind a little of the corner of it off to take off the sharp edge. Well we are still hitting it. It's not enough to cause major injuries, but enough where people have torn their skin at stubbed fingers enough to make them sore. We have ask numerous times about just removing the whole beam, since it is inoperable anyway. Today, Dec.8, an engineer told me they are going to leave it and put cutters back on it. No one used it when it was first designed and no one will probably use it after they do whatever they plan to do to it. We are tired of getting injuries, although minor, on this beam that they put there.
