Regulatory Report
200 Georgetown Way, Charlottesville, 22901 Virginia, United States
On Tuesday, August 18th a receptionist tested COVID-19 positive at the UVA ER. The reception staff was forced to come into work the following day despite being confirmed exposures and many worked until 4-7PM. Employees were told that they did not care about the hospital or that they are an essential business if they did not come into work. Management indicated that they are not required to quarantine or close because they are an essential business. Many staff members felt it was unsafe to return to work. Others were concerned about job security and continued to work Thursday and Friday. The Albemarle County Health department recommended that all reception staff quarantine. This was not done. A second employee has come up symptomatic and received positive test results (symptomatic Thursday, positive test Sunday, 8-23). Multiple team members have yet to be quarantined or tested despite this information.3 weeks ago •reported by user-dwzcm295 • details
