T8 CCR § 5193 d(2) - The Employer is providing just two sharps containers per unit per day. Needles are overflowing the containers and creating a hazard that can cause accidents to health care personnel. The Chief Nursing Officer communicated employees that this directive was coming from the Hospital Director. The explanation for lack of supply given to employees was a fire in the containers factory. This situation is happening in the entire hospital but especially in MICU, CVICU and ICU, where there are 19 beds and sharp containers are not enough.
