Description of complaint: ER has EE's transport hazardous waste i.e. biopsy specimens, contaminated gowns, and other contaminated surgical instruments in their own personal vehicles which sometimes will be stored overnight, or over the weekend. Worksites also include 301 East St. Healdsburg, CA 95448 and 4739 Hoen Ave. Santa Rosa, CA 95405. 1. The employer did not identify and correct the unsafe and unhealthy practice of allowing employees to transport medical specimens and contaminated PPE and instruments in their person vehicles. Ref T8 CCR 3203(a)(4)(6). Description of complaint: ER will take off their mask around patients who are vaccinated (or not) without asking the medical assistants if they are comfortable. This includes one medical assistant with a health condition. 2. The employer did not ensure employees are wearing facial coverings properly while attending to patients while other staff members are in the area.
