Recently the Biden administration issued an executive order requiring passengers to wear a mask on public transit. It ordered the DOT to follow guidelines found in the CDC guidelines for riding public transportation during this pandemic. The CDC guidelines say that passengers who wish to ride the bus unmasked (and state a medical condition) must have a doctor's note. The Rapid states in a memo that bus riders are to allow any rider to ride the bus unmasked provided they have any medical condition. Furthermore, should a medical condition come up during a conversation about a mask, bus drivers are to assume it means they have a medical intolerance to a mask. The Rapid's policy differs greatly from the President's Executive order. It is far more liberal in allowing passengers to ride unmasked and this represents a dangerous working condition for bus drivers.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2021-01-28
