Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, 1481 W 10th St, INDIANAPOLIS, IN, 46202, USA

4 years ago business

1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, 46202 Indiana, United States

1. HCP are still allowed to sit together, often shoulder to shoulder in overcrowded nurse stations, with no efforts made to enable physical distancing or provide physical barriers between HCP despite requests for changes (ED). 2. There are no physical barriers between HCP and patients approaching the nursing station despite requests for changes (ED). 3. HCP are being provided non-medical face masks in lieu of approved PPE when performing direct care for COVID-19 positive patients, despite significant risk of exposure to potentially infectious aerosols and no observable shortage of approved respirators/surgical masks. The face masks that are being provided are not approved for medical use (ED). 4. HCP who work inside rooms of patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection are only being provided level 1 gowns, in lieu of level 2 or 3 isolation gowns, which is not in accordance with current CDC guidelines (ED). 5. There is no process in place for cleaning workstations, computers, phones, IV carts, drug dispensing machines, door handles, etc. While many will do their best to sanitize their computer and phone before use, most community used - items that involve frequent touching, such as IV carts and drug dispensing machines, are rarely cleaned (ED). 6. Face shields that are provided for patient care are not for medical use (ED).
