Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Tuscola Board of Education, 1385 Cleaver Road, CARO, MI, 48723, USA

5 years ago business

1385 Cleaver Road, Caro, 48723 Michigan, United States

1. The district will not permit remote work as required by the emergency rule 5(8). This hazard could affect approximately 40-50 individuals who could feasibly perform at least some of their work remotely. 2. In particular, itinerant staff (Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Social Workers, etc) and some special education teachers who are providing services to students who have chosen to participate in distance learning are required to come into the building to perform these virtual services. This work can feasibly be done from home because we did provide these services from home in April 2020-August 2020. 3. Our school buildings are currently open for approximately 2/3 of enrolled students. It is feasible for some employees to work approximately 1-2 days per week from home while performing virtual distance learning services. 4. Other employees may be able to perform all of their work from home as all of their assigned students are remote students. 5. Requiring employees to come into the buildings (Highland Pines School, Central Office, various local public school buildings throughout the county) exposes them to additional opportunities to contract or spread COVID-19. Our county is currently listed at level E with exponential growth and community spread.
