Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Thurston County Communications, 2703 Pacific Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501, USA

2703 Pacific Avenue Southeast, Olympia, 98501 Washington, United States

Employees only wear masks when up from their stations in the dispatch room. When at their stations employees are not required to wear masks. The dispatch room is one large open room, where most stations are only 5 feet apart. After safety complaints were made, plexiglass was installed between stations. The plexiglass is suspended with room on all sides for air to travel. If an employee stands when at their station, their head is above the plexiglass. In another area, stations are closer to 6 feet apart with no plexiglass between stations. Employees rotate between stations, with multiple shifts started throughout the day. Covid-19 cases have increased, but employees are not notified that they have been exposed when their co-worker has become ill. Management claims it is up to the Department of Health to notify individuals. Employees are allowed to work after they have become ill, while waiting for test results to come in. Employees with sick family members are allowed to work. There are currently 40-50 dispatchers plus Supervisors, so it is hard to know who has been exposed since work stations are rotated and shifts overlap.
