Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Keck School of Medicine, 1975 Zonal Avenue, LOS ANGELES, CA, 90033, USA

4 years ago business

1975 Zonal Avenue, Los Angeles, 90033 California, United States

Keck School of Medicine is having their medical students return to clinical training at LAC+USC Medical Center and Keck Hospital without students receiving results confirming a negative COVID test after returning home for Thanksgiving break. COVID cases are surging in Los Angeles, ICU's are approaching capacity, and Keck School of Medicine is choosing to send its students back to the hospital to see patients, even though students went home and gathered with groups outside of their households and across state lines for Thanksgiving break. Students have communicated discomfort with these plans, and concerns for their personal safety and the safety and public health of the community, but are repeatedly dismissed by the Keck School of Medicine Administration. The AAMC governing body of medical schools explicitly determined that medical students are non-essential personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, but Keck School of Medicine's haphazard clinical arrangements do not take into account students' non-essential status and the need to protect both the students and the general public during the COVID-19 pandemic. On main complainant alleging the hazards, there is no employee employer relationship (students and customers are exposed also). CCR T8 5199/3205 Not effective safety guidelines for COVID-19 or precautions to protect employees.
