1) Employees are potentially exposed to cave-in hazards associated with trenches. It was reported that employees are working in trenches that are in excess of 5 feet deep and do not have adequate protective systems and also have possible water and vibration hazards. It was further reported that the soil is fissured. Contrary to 29 CFR 1926.652 2) Employees are exposed to struck-by hazards associated with trenching activities. It was reported that employees are exposed to struck-by hazards to the eyes and face because they are not wearing safety glasses. Contrary to 29 CFR 1926.102. 3) Employees are potentially exposed to health hazards associated with COVID-19. It was reported that that the employer has not implemented precautions such as but not limited to social distancing or facial coverings. Contrary to Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act. 4) Employees are potentially exposed to struck-by hazards due to an improper traffic control setup. It was reported that the traffic control plan does not include flaggers or proper warning devices or lights. Contrary to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Section 5a()(1) of the OSH Act.Alleged Hazards: 4, Employees Exposed: 15
