A part time supervisor at this UPS facility acts as lead supervisor when the normal shift supervisor is out. When he is the lead supervisor, he asks the covid-19 screening questions, and positions himself at a choke-point to the building entrance which forces workers to pass within 3 feet of him. In addition, he does not wear a mask and is thus has heightened potential to act as a vector for the spread of covid-19. On May 4, 2020, our shift steward asked this supervisor to give workers 6 feet of distance when asking the screening questions. He stated that he would only do so when requested on an individual basis. This supervisor has a reputation as an unreasonable supervisor among the workers and thus they are less likely to request he move when compared to other supervisors, for fear of retaliation. We have previously informed one of the center managers about this supervisor in mid-late March, and no action has been taken. This impacts up to 30 workers on the PM shift on any day this supervisor is asking the screening questions, once or twice per week. I believe this to be a violation of Executive Order 2020-59 social distancing guidelines.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-05-05
