Employer not providing PPE such as gloves, masks, face shields, etc. Business operating even though business classified as nonessential Social distancing does not work in our factory . In our step cell in order to function properly employees have to work shoulder to shoulder or at least 2-3ft apart. Its 4/28/2020 and we're just now receiving face shields. For a few weeks the company wasn't allowing employees to use the refrigerator and microwaves due to not being able to consistently, now we pretty much have to use them at our own risk. Staying 6ft apart on the work floor is impossible for majority of employees. We were told we were essential due to some loop hole they found. Majority of the company competitors have shut down. They stated we were essential because of the pool covers we produce , but the covers are only in production in the fall and the fort wayne plant doesn't even produce them or any safety equipment. They're have been multiple people who were sent home because of some type of illness. A couple who works at the factory has actual contact with the covid 19 due to their close relative that officially tested positive for the virus. The company failed to tell the plant. Workers found out from the information from other co workers. Proper ppe hasn't been giving out except for the face shields given today. No face mask were handed out. Hand sanitizer are is always low.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-04-28
