Interpreters are now having to go into patient rooms to provide translations, including rooms on 7E where there are CV19+ patients, including a patient who died of CV19. They are only provided surgical masks and goggles and have had no training nor are they told if patients could be positive or are pending test results. Before they were interpreting behind barriers at entrances or via phone or video. Now they are told they have to enter room where they may spend from 30 minutes to hours. Some interpreters are at high risk for the disease. A 36 year old interpreter with asthma died recently so other interpreters are very concerned.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-10-15
