CMCSS School district is using a chemical called Super HDQ Neutral to spray the school buildings and disinfect for COVID-19. Employees have communicated concerns about the use of this chemical and the only response was "They use a diluted form". Diluted poison is still poison. This chemical is in several hazardous classes on the OSHA scale. Employees are concerned that this chemical is causing and will continue to cause long term health effects for employees and thousands of children who are in this environment. They are spraying it on cafeteria tables and surfaces all over the school buildings from Elementary to High school. There is no proper ventilation and this chemical is known to absorb into porous surfaces. A custodian at one school developed a cyst under her eyelid after using this chemical and several other employees are having eye irritation due to the use of this chemical. Some of the employees have noticed that after being at the school building, by the end of the week, they end up suffering from conjunctivitis or some type of allergic reaction in their eyes. During breaks like fall and winter break, the employees eyes are clearing up with no issue. There are thousands of employees and students who are being affected by this. Middle Schools: Kenwood, Montgomery Central, New Providence, Northeast, Richview, Rossview,West Creek. High Schools: Clarksville, Kenwood, Middle college, Montgomery Central, Northeast, Northwest, Rossview, West Creek.
