Regulatory Report

3340 Hospital Road, Saginaw, 48603 Michigan, United States

1. Employer failed to notify staff of direct exposure to COVID-19. Behavioral medicine staff are not being notified directly every time there is a COVID exposure. 2. Employer not providing testing to behavioral health employees despite being continuously exposed and requiring mandatory regular testing for other units in the facility. 3. Employer not providing staff with appropriate PPE (no medical grade N-95 masks). 4. Employees are being exposed to COVID-19 and not being notified by employee health/administration. This occurred on the adolescent unit on November 10, 2020. A patient tested positive, the entire staff was exposed, and no phone calls have been made as of November 12, 2020. 5. Patients are not in negative pressure rooms. 6. Administration refuses to require a negative COVID test before admission. 7. The employee health/infection control position is currently vacant. 8. Mitigation strategy is non-sensical and does not follow best practices. 9. Administration has continually refused to offer mass testing to behavioral medicine staff. 10. Employer is not properly quarantining patients that have been exposed. 11. A patient tested positive on the adolescent unit recently and there was no plan on how to proceed once the results came back. Also, management has not tested all the patients that were exposed. Management is downplaying the situation and has not contacted everyone that was in contact with the patient. 12. Everyday employees get e-mails stating that someone (patient or employee) has tested positive and to not worry even though this is a serious issue. 13. The behavioral medicine units are not equipped to handle a COVID-19 patient. 14. Employees do not have the proper PPE to wear while at work.
