Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Cremation Society of Indiana, 4115 South Shelby Street, SOUTHPORT, IN, 46227, USA

5 years ago business

4115 Shelby Street, Indianapolis, 46227 Indiana, United States

None of the employees are wearing full safety equipment including masks while working in the work room or in the embalming room. Not all employees utilize PPE, masks, or gloves, when handling the deceased. Employees are not immediately notified of decedents who are COVID-19 positive, the deceased is not marked or labeled. If there is not enough room, bodies are stored on gurneys in the work room, they do not wash the gurneys down in between use. There has been dried blood on the paperwork, outside of body bags, on the floor, and on the wall in the embalming room and work room. The doors are always left open in the negative air pressure room, the biohazard room. They are lacking cleaning supplies. There are no cleaning procedures between viewings in the cremation society. Employees are only provided limited masks and gloves; they are re-used, and the filters are not changed. Gowns are re-used and used PPE goes into a regular trash can and not into a biohazard container. They are not always able to enforce social distancing. Employees were not trained or certified in biohazards or PPE wear. The furnace filters and ventilation for the entire building have not been cleaned or checked. There is no safety manager.
