Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Rivergate Terrace, 14141 Pennsylvania, RIVERVIEW, MI, 48192, USA

5 years ago business

14141 Pennsylvania Road, Riverview, 48192 Michigan, United States

I work at the Rivergate Terrace building, I am not sure how many staff between nurse aids, nurses, housekeeping and therapy go into rooms but it could be 50 or greater as we have almost 300 patient beds. To date we've had 5 patients that have tested positive for Coronavirus-19 and one employee in the therapy department test positive. We have at least another 25 patient's with fever and Coronavirus-19 symptoms, many of whom are on droplet precautions, and droplet precautions are not always listed on their doors. Last week each employee received one N95 mask and were told it has to be reused everyday despite not having received any training/education on how to supposedly reuse PPE safely. Also we are constantly running out of other PPE such as gowns (of which we don't have appropriate ones) and surgical masks which we have been told to reuse both, leaving some CNA/nursing staff to leave many PPE gowns tied up in residents closets to be used again all bunched together cross contaminating and completely defeating the purpose of PPE. If we have any unused PPE in the building at any time it is because staff have been reusing their PPE and in an unsafe manner as no one has told us how this can be done safely.
