Currently 140 employees have tested positive for COVID-19 at the St. Louis VA. We are told a majority have contracted the virus in the community, come to work and infected other employees. Staff are being made to share office space with inability to social distance. Seats are at maximum 2 feet apart. This is occurring at all community based out patient clinic under the St. Louis VA healthcare system. Employee health is also forcing staff to return to work with a mask even if they have had direct exposure to a household member that has tested positive to COVID-19 after only 3 days, even though the incubation period is 2-14 days and depending on when the person was tested, they may have negative test result but still be positive for the virus. This jeopardizes the safety of everyone in the clinic, both staff and patients that may come in contact with the person who has been exposed to COVID-19. Hazard locations: 1) Jefferson Barracks primary care clinic. 2) O'Fallon VA clinic. 3) Shiloh Clinic 4) All primary care clinics at St. Louis VA.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-10-21
