1) Inadequate PPE provided to speech language pathologists (SLPs) working in what, per OSHA guidelines, would be deemed Extremely High" risk environments. For example, within the acute care setting at Mary Bridge and Good Samaritan Hospital, only a few SLPs have N95 masks. According to the Which Mask for Which Task guidelines, the risk level in this setting is "Extremely High" and warrants N95s or CAPR/PAPR. 2) Inadequate PPE provided to SLPs working in, per OSHA guidelines, a "High Risk" environment, warranting a respirator or above. For example, in the outpatient setting at Tacoma General and the in-patient rehab and out-patient setting at Good Samaritan Hospital, SLPs are performing swallow and voice treatments with surgical masks only.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-08-31
