Safety Report: Coronavirus, Ontario, CA, USA

5 years ago reported by user-vjrfw443

Coronavirus, Ontario, CA, USA

Ontario, California, United States

I started with a sore throat Friday March 13 I went to work thinking it would go away it didn’t. Since the end of Friday I have been in bed with 100-101.7 average. I was very achy, headache, fever, chills running nose and coughing I would describe it as a really bad flu. I called my dr on Sunday and he said stay home for the next 2 weeks. No one locally test. (As of today) The emergency will “screen” then they give you paperwork with a permit number to go somewhere else to test, deemed if they suspect you are a Coronavirus candidate, likely your local county health department. I’m 61 and in my line of work I submit to yearly flu shot and have not come down with the flu IN YEARS!!!! Today is Wednesday and my fever finally broke. When I wanted to be tested I followed their protocol park at the ambulance bay and call in I was turned away. Didn’t meet the criteria 1) have I been out of the country 2) have I been around someone who tested positive ...no, no. I never had chronic upper respiratory so if your fever spikes or you can’t breath go into the Er or call 911.
There are mild, moderate and severe symptoms. Everyone is different.
What about those who had NO symptoms and got tested? Those with slight symptoms got tested. Ya Ya they in another country they traveled, those with celebrity status..so I guess I will never know if it was the flu or the virus. By the way I have a very large family. I wanted to test for their sake.
So they, the media, say get tested..... it did me no good
