Even though I work in a facility that has had 2 positive COVID-19 patients and I’m having symptoms, I’m told I am not eligible to be tested and I was asked “if this was 6 months ago, what would you have done?” I said “go to urgent care” and the agent said "Well we don’t recommend that right now and you’re not eligible for a test. If your symptoms continue, go to the ER but call beforehand”. I waited FORTY MINUTES on hold to be told this. Even though I’m in a state with cases in the thousands and I’ve possibly been exposed. This is absolutely ridiculous. If celebrities with no symptoms can get tested then a healthcare worker WITH symptoms should be eligible for a test as well. Praying it’s just a horrible cold but I fear the worse.
