Safety Report: Coronavirus COVID-19, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines

Coronavirus COVID-19, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines

Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines

My Tito has COVID-19
1. His family brought him to St. Luke’s BGC because he has fever.
2. Upon checking his temp, they put him in an isolation tent and tested him for COVID-19
3. After so many hours, they still sent him back home even if my Tito was already exhibiting symptoms
4. After a few days, they got a call confirming my Tito has COVID-19 and an ambulance will “soon” pick him up
5. The ambulance got to their house AFTER 4 DAYS
6. The ambulance personnel checked him and they said he is already critical and might not make it.
7. The ambulance left
8. My relatives tried calling different hospitals which could take my Tito (Lung Center, Makati Med, Pque Doctors) but they don’t accept patients anymore. The ambulance should still take my Tito and the ambulance should be the one to go through the different hospitals to see which hospital could take him?!?!
10. She was crying to her boss who somehow is connected to the DOH’s undersecretary.
11. They were able to find a way since a bed has been freed up in Rizal Hospital in Taguig on that day and now was reserved for my Tito.
12. An ambulance picked him up and now he’s confined
9. No luck on finding a hospital so my Tita got hysterical and as a last resort, called her company’s president.
Apart from the issue of mass testing, there is another issue of shortage of beds in hospitals. So pababayaan na lang ba mamatay ang pasyente sa bahay? So please, whomever has the power, make sure that there are enough beds. If need be, convert hotels, dorms, etc into mobile hospitals. As soon as there is already mass testing, you can be sure now that the next problem is I hospitals.
Thanks for reading and hope everyone keep safe.
