I just received one of these too. Did you by any chance recently order a laser engraver off a facebook add?
I received one today as well. I guess adding to this list of people doesn't really help or answer any questions? What I mean is, does reporting it here accomplish anything? Not sure I buy the 'just a free gift from amazon' explanation.
