1. Employees are exposed to chemical hazards, in that the employer does not provide adequate personal protective equipment such as chemical splash goggles and aprons for employees who open and process recovered mail from the all-purpose containers (APCs) in the mail recovery center. 2. Employees are exposed to chemical hazards, in that the employer does not provide adequate safety training for employees who open and process recovered mail which contains unknown solid and liquid substances including parcels which show evidence of leaking contents. 3. Employees are exposed to health hazards associated with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in that the employer is not effectively implementing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines including, but not limited to, contact tracing and workplace sanitation where an employee tested positive for COVID-19 and continued to work for 11 days before being quarantined. (Advisement Letter Sent)
