May 19, 2022 - Drinking water can get contaminated from broken water mains, rain runoff, and other sources. If you drink tainted water it can cause diarrhea, cholera, Giardia, Salmonella infection, and E. coli infection. If a boil water advisory is issued in your area, be extra careful that water is clean before you drink it or use it. To make it safe, bring water to a full rolling boil for 1 to 2 minutes then allow it to cool before use. Boil tap water even if it is filtered.
