Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections of Freeport, Maine is recalling its 8 oz resealable package of milk chocolate covered blueberries because they may contain undeclared chocolate covered almonds. People who have allergies to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these... See More products. The recalled Milk Chocolate Blueberries were distributed throughout New England, in retail stores, and nationwide through mail orders. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

The product comes in Wilbur’s branded 8-ounce, resealable zippered pouch bag, with UPC # 81321300430 and an expiration date of April 5, 2023 stamped on the backside.

The recall was initiated after a customer discovered chocolate covered almonds in a package (of milk chocolate covered blueberries). The blueberry packaging does not reveal the presence of almonds. Consumers with nut allergies, who have purchased 8 oz packages of milk chocolate covered blueberries, with the best by date of 4/5/23, are encouraged to return them to place of purchase for a full refund.

Subsequent investigation indicates that the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging process. The process has been corrected and the company has instituted additional safety checks and corrective actions.

J&M Foods is initiating a voluntary recall because a select number of the Lavender Shortbread Cookies were erroneously packed with Chocolate Chip Cookies.  As a result, the packaging does not list the presence of a possible allergen (soy or eggs). This product was distributed nationally at Target.... The recalled Prune & Senna Softgels were distributed nationwide in our retail store and through online and mail orders. The product comes in a 30-count, white plastic bottle marked with lot # 6105193 on the bottom and with a manufacturing date of 03-2022 stamped on the label.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by an accidental contamination of the one of the raw materials in the product.

New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball today alerted consumers that A&C Best Food Trading Inc., located at 36-08 Review Ave in Long Island City, New York 11101, is recalling “Licorice Flavor Olive” due to the presence of undeclared sulfites. The product was distributed nationally.

People... See More who have severe sensitivity to sulfites may run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume this product. To date, no illnesses have been reported to this Department in connection with this product.

The recalled “Licorice Flavor Olive” is packaged in clear plastic jar which weights approximately one pound. The product is coded “2021/10/15” stamped on the bottom of the jar and has a UPC code of “588552-331090”.

Routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets food inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by New York State Food Laboratory personnel revealed the product contained high levels of sulfites which were not declared on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions, including anaphylactic shock, in some asthmatics and sensitive individuals. Consumers who are sensitive to sulfites and have purchased “Licorice Flavor Olive” should not consume it.
