The UPC/barcode number is used to identify the product (e.g. 24oz, 16oz, etc.). The lot number and expiration date are based on when the product was made/packaged so that will always be different. If your code is different then most likely your product is safe.

My UPC code AND lot number match and I just bought it in California two days ago at Costco. California is not listed?

My code and best buy date are not the same, whew. My lot was not included in the accidental shredded up plastic lid. No need to worry or return.

NOTE - Nestle provided the additional comments about this recall: In April, out of an abundance of caution and our commitment to product quality and consumer safety, we initiated a voluntary recall of a single batch code of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides --at a limited number of Costco locations-- and worked with Costco to both notify their members who may have purchased impacted product, and remove any potentially impacted product from stores. To date, no injuries have been reported in relation to this recall. No other retailers or e-tailers are affected by this recall, and no other Vital Proteins products are affected.
