Life Extension has issued a recall for several of its food supplements sold in Ireland due to the presence of melatonin, a substance not permitted in food products in the country. The products were distributed through various retail and online outlets.AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
PRODUCT: Fast-Acting Liquid Melatonin
- Pack Size: 59ml
PRODUCT: Melatonin IR/XR
- Pack Size: 60 capsules
PRODUCT: Melatonin 1 mg
- Pack Size: 60 capsules
PRODUCT: Melatonin 6 Hour Timed Release
- Pack Size: 60 vegetarian capsules
PRODUCT: Melatonin 3 mg
- Pack Size: 60 vegetarian capsules
All batch codes and best-before dates are affected.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that melatonin, regulated as a prescription medication in Ireland, was present in these supplements. The recall was classified as a Category 1 alert and was initiated on October 2, 2025.
