A water main break has occurred in the city of Zanesville, prompting the Zanesville Water Division to issue a precautionary boil alert for the community.
Due to an emergency water main repair project the Zanesville Water Division is issuing a precautionary boil alert for customers in the affected area of the Downtown District from 3rd to 6th Streets between Main and Market Streets. Residents should not drink the water without boiling it... first.

A section of Blue Avenue in front of Zanesville High School will remain closed throughout the remainder of the week as crews from the city's water and street departments continue to make repairs after Monday's water main break.
On Monday, water was shutoff in the area as... repairs were made to the water main, leaving 18 homes on Blue and Marion avenues, as well as the schools, under a boil advisory.

Weather permitting, crews from the Zanesville Water Department will be conducting preventive maintenance from 11 p.m., October 7th to 6 a.m., October 8th. The work will be done in the areas of Shelby, Mathews, and Baker Streets.
Once service is restored, the city is issuing a precautionary... boil advisory for customers in the affected area.

The following areas may be affected by low water pressure: Westwood Drive, Walnut Drive, National Way, June Parkway, Federal Avenue, Clay Street, Chester... Street, Race Street, Arch Street, Maysville Pike from Spence Avenue to Clay Street, Baker Street – including Cook Manor and Pine Street including all side streets from Maysville Avenue north to Shelby Street.

Alleged Hazards: 1. On or about February 2, 2021, a casting fell on an employee's leg injuring their knee and foot. The employee was required to sit in the training room for a couple of hours after the injury occurred. Findings: Through the inspection process and employee... interviews it was found that the employee misused the equipment and was retrained. No citations issued. 2. On or about February 3, 2021, an employee injured their foot at work and sustained an injury that required surgery. The employer was required to sit in the training room for a couple of hours before receiving treatment. Findings: Through the inspection process and employee interviews it was found that the employee slipped on ice in the parking lot and the employer switched contractors that same day to clean the parking lot. No citations issued. 3. The employer has not taken the appropriate steps to protect employees from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 including but not limited to having employees wear facemasks. Findings: Through the inspection process and employee interviews it was found that the employees wear face masks. No citations issued.
