yet finished. We had plans to go to the Museum next door so we decided to pay early, moments before this occurring. As they were hauling our food away, my mother exclaimed that she wasn’t paying for the meals since we were just a few bites in. The manager proceeded to shout back at her that he already has her card, and he will charge what he pleases. He quickly came back with a few male employees with him who then proceeded to threaten to physically kick us out, after he threatened to call the cops. We were just so baffled and trying to process what was happening because the situation escalated quickly from such a benign question. We left with him shouting that the state and the governor couldn’t do anything about his lack of compliance because it was his “constitutional right” to not wear a mask, and the same of his employees.
My mother, trying to clear the air, calls the restaurant back a couple of hours later because she felt so bad about the situation. Well, the same manager answers and recognizes her voice. He proceeded to rant about being an American and started using obscene language. We had no choice but to hang up and file the proper complaints.
