Scammed by Grmando Oteroy (Facebook ad purchase), Facebook Scam
1 year ago •reported by user-znyvg158
Ordered an xmas ornament and it was nothing like pictured on the Facebook ad. Ornament pictured was a brilliantly colored owl and three dimensional. What I got was a dull, flat image printed on 1/8” balsa wood. No method of contact, no confirmation or delivery email, just the return address on the package. Grmando Oteroy (likely a pseudonym, but it seems to be used frequently for fraudulent products sold on Facebook based on a simple google search). Addresses seem to be varied, but usually on Wolcott Ave in Chicago. "equationk London GB” was indicated on my credit card statement. Since there is no way to track what ad I clicked on, there is no way to know how to go about a return. And based on my internet search of the individual's name, it sounds as though it wouldn’t matter based on other people’s experiences. I have ordered on FB before, but those sellers/companies had websites you could access independent of FB. I will be using this as a litmus test in the future, or just avoid buying off of FB altogether. Note this is NOT FB Marketplace. It was an ad that was in my feed.
