February 28th Update: Thousands of people are without power in the Sierra as a winter storm ravages the area. PG&E's outage maps has thousands of customers without power in the Placerville, Somerset, Camino and Pollock Pines areas of El Dorado County. An outage of more than 4,000 customers is also impacting the area around Garden Valley. According to PG&E, the outages were caused by weather. Some of the more recent ones in the Placerville area began around 9 p.m. However, others began earlier around 8 p.m. and 6 p.m.
