On the night of November 21, 2024, PG&E reported that power had been restored to 5,609 customers who lost electricity in a large portion of north Salinas. The outage, referred to as an unplanned outage by PG&E, affected areas from Sherwood Hall, Polk Drive, and West Laurel north to the Northridge Mall area and Madrid Street.
