More than 1,100 Federated Rural Electric members in southern Jackson County lost power around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, as heavy rains and strong winds rolled through the area. Most Federated members lost power due to a transmission-line outage on a line owned by Great River Energy. Crews patrolled the lines and power was restored to the Miloma and West Lakefield substations around 6:40 p.m., with the Round Lake substation restored at 7:44 p.m. Most members served by the Minneota substation had power restored at 7:47 p.m.
