Tens of thousands of CenterPoint Energy customers began getting back power late Thursday night after an afternoon of strong storms. More than 165,000 customers were without power in parts of Houston by 9 p.m., according to the utility's outage tracker site. The downpours began at about 5 p.m. Thursday.
