According to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg, wind gusts from Tropical Storm Helene will intensify throughout Friday and into the weekend, bringing hazardous conditions to the Carolinas. According to Duke Energy's outage map, power outages affected about 620,940 customers in their South Carolina service area on Friday morning, September 27. The most affected counties are:
Greenville: 229,632 customers affected.
Spartanburg: 151810 customers affected.
Anderson: 88,392 customers affected.
York: 26,885 customers affected.
Greenwood: 26,812 customers affected.
Pickens: 23,069 customers affected.
Oconee: 11,967 customers affected.
Cherokee: 11,712 customers affected.
Lancaster: 11,291 customers affected.
