As severe storms brought heavy rain and strong winds to the tri-state area overnight and into Friday morning, thousands of customers woke up without power in New York and New Jersey.

New York City area and Long Island:
- Orange & Rockland: Over 1,140 customers with no power, the majority of which were in Orange County. outage map: outagemap.oru.com
- Con Edison: Over 1,190 customers without power, the majority of which were in Westchester, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Outage map: outagemap.coned.com
New Jersey
- PSE&G: Over 730 customers were affected, with the majority in Mercer, Union and Burlington counties. Outage map: outagecenter.pseg.com
- Jersey Central Power & Light: Over 5,470 customers without power, with the majority in Hunterdon, Morris, Monmouth, Sussex and Warren counties.

Customers lost power this morning in south Jonesboro due to a blown transformer. The outage was reported just after 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, on Southwest Drive. According to Jonesboro CWL, power has been restored to the area.
