More than 1,600 customers woke up to no power Monday morning following overnight storms that packed gusts of 49 mph in some areas. As of 8:15 a.m., 783 Georgia Power customers were without service thanks to 41 outages in Floyd County, most in the north and northeast parts of the community. Armuchee and Shannon were among the hardest hit but multiple outages were reported near Coosa as well.
