I would be suspicious of a disease or other unleashed when opened. I would return to sender or report this for someone to analyze. What a way to spread something you cannot see. It’s happened before.

I bought 3 portable ceramic heaters. They were advertised as efficient plug in any room for quick heat. The heaters draw 220 volts and my home is wired for 110 volts like most other north American homes with outlets that receive the type of plug the heaters have.
