Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Tutor Time of Jenison, 598 Baldwin Street, JENISON, MI, 49428, USA

5 years ago business

598 Baldwin Street, Georgetown Township, 49428 Michigan, United States

A child was permitted in the facility on 10/26/20 prior to receipt of their COVID-19 testing results. Later in the day the establishment was informed that the child had tested positive. The child and their siblings were in the facility for almost 2 hours and were in various classrooms exposing multiple children and teachers. While the positive child's classroom had been shut down and the specific teachers and children have been instructed not to return to work until November 9th, there is concern that the child's classmates have siblings in other classrooms including their own siblings. None of these of other classrooms are being shut down which is spreading other probable cases. The management team also sent out a message to parents stating that the last day of exposure to the positive child was on Friday (10/23/2020), which is not true. The child that tested positive was in the center for almost 2 hours on 10/26. There is concern that there has been second hand exposure to other children and staff because the infected child's siblings were permitted to return to the center. It has also been heard that management is considering using the classroom that has been shut down and is supposed to remain unused for quarantine period, next week with a whole new set of children.
