A water main break in Jackson compelled officials to issue a boil-water advisory Sunday, May 21. Affected areas are Trail Ridge Subdivision, Kimbel Woods Subdivision, East Ridge Subdivision, and all of Old Cape Road from Kimbel Woods Drive to Gloria Street. Officials were made aware of the leak at about 9 p.m. Saturday night, May 20. Water service was restored by early Sunday afternoon.

Repeat samples were taken that same day that came back E. Coli positive as well as a sample that showed positive for total Coliform on May 26, 2023. The Boil Order will remain in effect until further notice. Before using water to drink, cook, do dishes, wash hands or brush teeth, bring water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes.

SCAM. Check your credit card bill/bank. Contact them, report it as fraudulent. They will investigate, cancel charges. This is someone posing as a phony company (w/phony bot-generated reviews), or another scam to get you to respond, then they will offer you a "50% refund" or somesuch. CAREFUL who you order from! Many fake accounts now, pretty sophisticated; anything w/prices "too good to be true" is absolutely a scam. Report them, then just ignore them; they cannot charge you anything. Note: the addresses are all fake (Amazon Seattle address, etc.)
