According to Liberty Utilities, more than 4,500 customers are without power in the South Lake Tahoe area. Liberty Utilites says they hope to have power restored around 6:45 p.m. The cause is under investigation.

4:30 PM UPDATE: The power outage at Lake Tahoe has grown to almost 20,000 Liberty Utilities customers. At 4:12 p.m., a large outage occurred affecting much of the South Shore. There is no estimated time of restoral of power.
